Privacy Policy

HawkeSmith is built local-first. The plugin runs inside your Unreal Editor, your AI API keys stay on your machine, and your prompts go directly to the AI provider you choose — never through our servers. We collect the minimum needed to sell you a license, deliver downloads, and answer support email. We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and the plugin contains no telemetry.

This site and the HawkeSmith plugin are operated by CodeHawke ("we", "us"). For anything privacy-related, contact support@codehawke.com.

• Email signups. If you join the launch list, we store the email address you give us and use it only to send HawkeSmith news. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
• Accounts. If you create an account, authentication is handled by Clerk. We store your email address and account identifiers so we can associate purchases and downloads with you.
• Purchases. Checkout is handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email address, and order details. We never see or store your card number.
• Licenses and downloads. When a purchase completes we create a license record (your order email, license key, and what you own) so we can deliver downloads and activations.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard request logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) for security and debugging. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

• License activation. When you activate, the plugin sends your license key and a machine identifier to our license server to validate the activation and enforce seat limits. That is the only data the plugin sends us.
• Your AI API keys. Stored locally in your editor's per-user config on your machine. They are sent only to the AI provider they belong to (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or your local model). They are never transmitted to CodeHawke.
• Your prompts, code, and project content. Sent directly from your machine to the AI provider you configure, under that provider's terms and privacy policy. We have no access to any of it.
• No telemetry. The plugin does not phone home with usage analytics, crash reports, prompt contents, or project data. Recipes and settings live in your project and are never uploaded.

We share data with these processors only to the extent needed to run the service:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Clerk — account authentication.
• Vercel — website hosting and request logs.
• Cloudflare — file storage and delivery for plugin and component downloads.

Each operates under its own privacy policy. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

License and order records are kept for as long as your license is valid, plus whatever period tax and accounting law requires. Launch-list emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs rotate on our hosting provider's standard schedule.

You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it (except records we are legally required to keep, such as invoices). Email support@codehawke.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or California, you may have additional statutory rights, and we will honor them.

This site and the plugin are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes affecting customers, notify you by email.
